Silver shark (SØLVHAI  in Norwegian) is a deep-water fish that lives on about. 100 meters depth. The oil from this fish has been used for health purposes long ago. Silver shark oil is beneficial for treating wounds, burns and eczema. Also good for internal use in ulcers in the gastrointestinal tract.   

The bala shark, Balantiocheilos melanopterus, also known as the tricolor shark, tricolor sharkminnow, silver shark, or shark minnow, is a fish of the family Cyprinidae, and is one of the two species in the genus Balantiocheilos. This species is not a true shark, but is commonly so called because of its torpedo-shaped body and large fins.

Silver shark oil is one of several products in the Arctic Omega series. It has been developed with Norwegian quality raw materials in collaboration with researchers from NOFIMA and Troms University College.
