Svindland

Salve Svindland began trading in meat in Flekkefjord in 1892. In 1907, Alvik S. took over Svindland and the company was formally registered. In earlier times, the company sold fresh meat and meat products. After 1960, production and sales have shifted more to bacon sausage. From 1957 until 1990, Kjell Svindland was the general manager.

Guinness Book of Records for Greatest Salami!

In 1992, a salami sausage was produced that was 20.95 m long and weighed 676.9 kg. The sausage was a gift to the city’s citizens on the occasion of Flekkefjord’s 150th anniversary.

The salami sausage was registered in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest in the world.
