The labeling scheme New Norway Enjoy Norway is the official information label for Norwegian food and drink. The labeling scheme will make it easy for consumers to choose
Norwegian food products in the store. New Norway guarantees:
• That the raw materials are Norwegian
• That the farmer has followed strict Norwegian rules and can document it
• That the food is produced and packaged in Norway Norwegian food is safe food.
Norway has very good animal health and fresh plants. We have a varied agriculture all over the country. The food industry based on Norwegian raw materials is one of the largest mainland industries in the country.
In total, almost 100,000 people work associated with Norwegian food. Here you can read more facts about Norwegian food production. Who is behind the labeling scheme? The labeling scheme is managed by the independent foundation Matmerk. The foundation is established by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
Matmerk are also responsible for the Quality System in Agriculture, which is an important part of the basis for New Norway. Today, just under 4,000 food and beverage products in Norway are approved for use with the brand.
